I'm sitting here doing my usual afternoon "Brazilian Coffee" and checking out the latest topics. Seems like there's a lot of wood cracking going on today. The weather must be getting cold in the US. Your summer season is finished and ours is just starting. IT'S SPRING TIME IN BRAZIL ! You guys should come down here and build for a few months...

I hate you!

Just kidding, but this is about the worst time of year up here, only about 4 hours worth of real day light, freezing cold, and it's a LONG time until things get noticeably better. Grrr...

Yes, I'd love to come down your way for a few months! Not going to happen, of course. Grrrr....

Arnt..I've been feeling the same way for the last 3-4 months. While you guys were having summer (or at least warmer weather) we've been enduring the cold here. Not that it gets reeeeaaaallllyyy cold but, the upper 30's and low 40's...which is kind of unusual and cold for Sao Paulo. Seemed like it rained every day and the sun just couldn't find a hole to shine through. And there are no heating systems in the flats here!! But, it's finally warming up and I love this place in the summer. I've been to Finland and some other northern european countries and I don't see how you guys tolerate the long days and long nights during the change of seasons. When we were in Helsinki..there was only about one hour of twilight. Never really got dark. It was hard to remember if it was late at night, mid day or early morning. Man what a crazy system that is. Anyway, hang in there..it'll be your turn again before you know it.

Yeah, but Jeff...if people in both Michigan and Texas have trouble dehumidifying during the summer, how do you folks in the rainforest do it?

Sao Paulo is a long way from the rain forest. Although, it gets humid in Sao Paulo during the summer but, not the dog days like in the mid-west, texas or florida. Possibly due to the higher elevation than say Rio de Janiero, or Asuncion, Paraguay.

It will be summer here in a few weeks, they're saying it'll be the hottest summer on record, 'cause it's already the hottest year on record. . Our new swimming pool goes in this week

Arnt, when I was in Trondheim it was the summer, my cousins took me for a swim in the local fjord (or lake? I can't remember). The water was like ice water, I had to sit on shore and watch everyone else swim (ok, so I was nine). My sister was braver, but her lips turned blue after a few minutes.
